About the Item
Original vintage music advertising poster for the 1980 album by the English punk rock band The Clash Black Market Clash featuring an iconic collage style illustration in black and white depicting a person walking towards a group of policemen with two tanks on the side and a military plane overhead, the stylised bold green lettering on the diagonal black background above and in white on red below. Formed in 1976 the successful and influential band The Clash broke up in 1986 after the release of their last album Cut The Crap in 1985; the original band members were Joe Strummer (lead and backing vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, lead and backing vocals), Paul Simonon (bass guitar, backing and lead vocals), Nicky "Topper" Headon (drums, percussion). This Black Market Clash album of nine songs was recorded from 1977-1980 and released in the USA and Canada in October 1980. Large size. Very good condition, repaired tears, backed on linen.
