About the Item
Original vintage advertising poster for a performance by Delhi the cycling elephant at the Zirkus Aeros circus featuring a fun colourful illustration of a grey elephant riding a red tricycle with the bold orange, white and green stylised lettering on the pale yellow background. Founded in Leipzig in 1941 by the circus performer and animal tamer Cliff Aeros (Julius Jager; 1889-1952), the Aeros / Eros circus was merged into the VEB Zentral-Zirkus / GDR State Circus in 1961. Good condition, folds, tears, staining, pinholes.
