Original vintage Soviet sports propaganda poster promoting the GTO Gotov k Trudu i Oborone / Ready for Work and Defense system of fitness ranking in the USSR - Health, Strength And Will To Our Motherland! Strong design featuring a red and gold medal in the centre showing two athletes running forward with the Soviet hammer and sickle emblem in a red star below and images depicting industrial factories, city construction and agriculture farming scenes with cranes, modern buildings and the Ostankino TV Tower next to the Monument to the Conquerors of Space and one of the Seven Sisters skyscrapers in Moscow, busy engineers and farm workers and red flags flying on the left side and images of various sport activities on the right side, including motorbike and speedboat racing, parachuting and rifle gun shooting on skis in the snow with the text on the medal and below in stylised red letters.
