About the Item

Original vintage travel advertising poster: Fly TWA to San Francisco World-Proved Constellations. Stunning artwork depicting a TWA Lockheed Constellation plane flying over the countryside with a burst of sunshine dramatically lighting up the image from behind the clouds and reflecting on the aircraft, the text above with the TWA logo in stylised red and yellow letters and below in white and yellow against the border background. Trans World Airlines was one of the largest American Airlines; TWA operated flights from 1926 until 2001, when it was acquired by American Airlines. The Lockheed Constellation ("Connie") was a propeller plane built from 1943-1958 for both military and civilian use. Good condition, restored cracks in the paint and paper, backed on linen.
