Original vintage travel poster promoting travel to India featuring a stunning illustration of a Manipuri Dancer in traditional Manipuri bride clothing with a long round stiffened decorative skirt and silver gauze flair representing a flower and sparkling jewellery with a veil over her head, dancing to music played by two men dressed in white dhoti trousers with a white shawl over their shoulders and white turbans, playing a drum and stringed instrument against the green background, the title text in bold stylised lettering below. The Manipuri Dance or Raas Leela is a classical Indian dance form based on Hindu Vishnu themes and performed with an emphasis on graceful hand gestures and upper body movement. Published by and for the Govt of India. Printed in India. Produced by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity. Ministry of I. & B. for the Dept of Tourism, Govt of India, New Delhi.
