Original vintage travel advertising poster for SAS Scandinavian Airlines System featuring a colourful design depicting a plane flying around the globe with the flags of Sweden, Norway and Denmark flying against the blue and white shaded background, the text and SAS logo below. Founded in 1946, SAS pooled the transatlantic operations of the mainland Scandinavian carriers Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik (Sweden), Det Norske Luftfartselskap (Norway) and Det Danske Luftfartselskab (Denmark); by 1948 the consortium covered European and domestic services; in 1951 the airlines merged to create SAS. Printed by J. Olsens Litografiska Anstalt in Sweden. Good condition, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.
