Original vintage WWII era Soviet propaganda poster - Привет Советским футболистам! / Hello Soviet football players! - featuring artwork of a football player holding a ball and looking at the viewer in front of people in the stadium with red flags flying overhead, the title text above and a poem by Aleksei Mashistov (1904-1987) on the margin below: Professors, tractor drivers, old people and children shout Hurray from the bottom of their hearts. And even the birthplace of football glorified their game in those days when they scored goal after goal against the English teams. It's not without reason that rumours about them are thundering: our people are known everywhere for the irresistibility of their blows and the unassailability of their goal posts - from the Окно ТАСС / Okno TASS Windows series issued as small circulation posters by the Телеграфное агентство Советского Союза / Soviet Union Telegraph Agency (1925-1992) from 1941 for public display designed to raise morale during World War Two by calling for the defense of the Motherland and boosting the spirits of both the military and civilians. Large size. Fair condition, fragile, creasing, folds, tears, staining, small paper losses, separate sheet stuck in top right corner.
