About the Item

Original Artwork Gauache on art board used for a vidio cover C1997. On the lower border under the mount states reduce to 5 3/8th this was a note to the printers. The film was directed by Takao Okawara and starred Masahiro Takashima, Yasuko Sawaguchi. The artwork is by Philip Richards (dates unknown). This artwork is conservation framed with acid free mounts and UV plexiglass. The size given is before framing. It would be shipped boxed.

In 1897, Jean-Gabriel Monnet chose the emblem of the salamander to decorate his bottles. The salamander is a mythical animal with the power to triumph over flames. Leonetto Cappiello is an Italian painter, illustrator, caricaturist and poster artist, naturalized French in 1930. His poster career began in 1900 and continued until the 1930s. He remained loyal to the Vercasson printing press until the early 1920s , continues with “Les Imprimeries Réunies” and begins, at the same period, to work regularly for the publisher Devambez, with whom he signs, from 1921 to 1936, an exclusive contract. About Leonetto Cappiello, The Father of Modern Advertising Leonetto Cappiello, born on April 9, 1875, in Livorno, Italy, is considered a pioneer in the world of advertising, often referred to often hailed as the "father of modern advertising."
