About the Item
Original French film poster for the first Planet of the Apes movie in 1968.
The artwork on this poster is unique to the films French release and was designed by Jean Mascii (1926-2003) one of Frances best known poster artists. This cult sci-fi film was directed by Franklin J. Schaffner, and stars Charlton Heston. It was a hugely successful film, which led to four sequels between 1970-1973, and further films in 2001, 2011, 2014 and 2017.
The poster is conservation linen backed and would be shipped rolled in a strong tube.
