Original US lobby card number 8 (withdrawn) for The Postman Always Rings Twice 1946.
This American film noir is based James M. Cain novel of the same name. The film was directed by Tay Garnett, and stars Lana Turner and John Garfield. The film was re-made in 1981 with Jack Nicolson and Jessica Lange.
The scene on this lobby card was deemed too risqué by the censors at the time. The card was withdrawn from use and a new number 9 card printed to replace it.
The size given is before framing. The size framed is 16 3/4 x 19 3/4 in. (42.6 x 50.2 cm) The lobby card is conservation framed with an Obeche wood frame and card mounts and UV plexiglass. The piece would be boxed and shipped by Federal Express.
