About

‘Metropolis’: a rare, large-format second-edition poster for the 1926 film 'Metropolis' by Fritz Lang. Approximately 10 or so example of this limited-edition poster exist, printed in the late 1970s, and due to its sheer scale, it is printed in three pieces and then joined together.

Framed in a plain section, black ebonized frame, and is exactly the same image as the original 1926 poster, of which only three examples exist, two are held in museum collections and one was purchased in recent years by a private collector who paid a record price achieved at auction for an original poster of $600,000.00.
