'Ready For Love' Original Vintage US One Sheet Movie Poster, 1934

The dazzling Art Deco design, standout typography and vividly contrasting candy pink and emerald green tones combine to irresistible effect on this rare US One Sheet poster for the 1934 Paramount Pictures romantic comedy ‘Ready For Love.’ The enchanting Ida Lupino starred as a boarding school runaway who falls in love with the handsome newspaper editor who arrives to cover a witchcraft trial in her aunt’s small town, and the pair head off to a happy-ever-after in New York. Notably, the film marked the first appearance of the dog who would go on to appear as Toto in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’

    Additions or alterations made to the original: Conservation backed on linen. Backing and spots of minor colour touching have smoothed and diminished one vertical and three horizontal machine folds. A minor 0.5x0.25in. restoration at upper edge where there was surface paper loss to the reverse. Wear consistent with age and use. Small 0.5 in. vertical tear to lower edge. A few creases to white ground at lower right corner and a handful of surface scuffs and blemishes. Slight lifting to linen along lower edge. Unframed. Will be shipped rolled in a heavy duty shipping tube.
