Framed Botanical Engraving, Johann Wilhelm Weinmann. Johann Wilhelm Weinmann (German 1683-1741) Published in Amsterdam & Ratisbon, 1736-45. This copper engraving was created in 1734. This image is among the earliest examples of color printing from a single plate. Plate 242, Beta alba, Poiree blanc. The matt framing this piece is a beautiful moss green velvet that adds a touch of depth and elegance that complements this unique piece.
