19thC Engraving of Mozart Playing for Hapsburg Emperor Francis 1

About the Item

A 19th century engraving of a young Mozart playing the harpsichord in the court of Hapsburg Emperor Francis I featuring the Emperor and a number of courtesans and members of the Hapsburg Royal Court. The engraving has its original white matting which has some water marks and age related paper spots and is presented in a magnificent water gilded frame. The engraving is backed by a wooden board. The engraver and publisher are unknown.

    Wear consistent with age and use. The carved and water gilt frame is in excellent condition; there are small stains and brown age spots on the matting and a small chip in top left hand corner of frame.
