Published in the late 19th century and printed by Firmin-Didot Frères, this plate is a masterful reproduction of classical Greek design vocabulary, capturing the balance, symmetry, and stylized naturalism that defined Hellenic aesthetics. The composition is divided into multiple horizontal sections, with the upper registers displaying classical Greek border designs. These include wave motifs, palmettes, anthemia, meanders (Greek key patterns), lotus chains, and stylized honeysuckle forms—elements commonly found on temples, ceramics, and steles. Rendered in ochre, terracotta red, deep black, and ivory, the palette faithfully reflects the decoration of Attic black-figure and red-figure pottery.
