Beautiful oleograph of a Lippizaner Horse. This print originates from 'Pferde-Rassen'. Made after O. Eerelman. Otto Eerelman (1839–1926) was a Dutch painter, best known for his depictions of dogs and horses. Born in Groningen, the Netherlands, Eerelman was also recognized as a court painter and created several portraits of Queen Wilhelmina as both a princess and a monarch. Throughout his career, he demonstrated a keen ability to capture the essence of his subjects, particularly the nobility and character of animals, which earned him significant acclaim during his lifetime. His work reflects a range of interests and subjects beyond animals, including genre scenes and historical paintings.
