Francisco Toledo
Francisco Toledo was a Mexican Zapotec painter, sculptor and graphic artist. Throughout his career, he was dedicated to promoting and defending the arts and culture of his birthplace, Oaxaca, Mexico. From a very young age, Toledo's artistic talent and abilities were recognized. He studied art in Oaxaca, during his youth and as a young man, moved to Paris, to continue his studies. While residing in France, he traveled throughout Europe, where he saw and was influenced by the work of many artists, including Paul Klee and Jean Dubuffet. However, unlike these European artists, Francisco Toledo's work never became completely abstract.

- Swedish Gustavian Period Carved and Polychrome Painted Signed Mora ClockBy MoraLocated in Wiscasset, MEOne of the finest signed examples of a late 18th century Swedish Mora long case clock that we have seen. The decorative carving is exquisite and the paint is early and probably original. The movement does function, but would have to be set after delivery. A top respected clock conservator did go over the movement to assure functionality. The original weights and pendulum are included, as well as a key. Gustavian Mora clocks are a type of long case clock which were made in, and derived their name from, the town of Mora in Dalarna province, Sweden. Production began in the late 18th century and continued through most of the 19th century. Mora clock faces...Category
