About the Item

This work is engraved on copper plate with 100% cotton paper. Etching, aquatint, drypoint. Edition 24/ 30 About the artist Mexican contemporary painter and sculptor, Saúl Kaminer (1952), is best known for his abstract pieces containing lines, curves, shadows, labyrinths and forms. Kaminer’s meticulous style is composed of various coats and textures provoked by himself, therefore giving a dimensionality to the different levels. His style is somehow disolved, linear, labyrinthic, and curvy. Kaminer’s work includes, etching, oil paintings, metal and onyx sculptures, printings, and engravings. Universal tradition, especially focusing on pre-hispanic and jewish culture are themes very present in his work, which are focused on his roots and his travels. two-dimensional and three-dimensional work has an abstract character but is clearly intentional. Since 1973 Kaminer has made 65 individual exhibitions; from 1978 to 2010, he has participated in more than 170 collective exhibitions in galleries and museums in Mexico and countries such as France, E. U., Nicaragua, Italy, Spain, England, Argentina, Chile, Germany, Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Peru, Puerto Rico and Cuba.
