Leopoldo Torres Agüero (b.1924 Argentina - d.1995 France) - 'Untitled' - Rare and early Mid-Century Modern three color monotype on buff paper - signed and dated lower right - signed and dedicated (in Spanish) lower left - unframed - France/Argentina - circa 1960.
Excellent vintage condition - no loss - no damage - no restoration - toning to the bottom and edges of the paper from a previous framing - rough edges - minor creases to the bottom of the paper (not viewable once framed) - unframed - signs of age and use.
Print Size/Dimensions - Medium - 10" (25 cm.) wide x 13" (33 cm.) high.
Paper Size - 12.25" (31 cm.) wide x 17" (43 cm.) high.
Leopoldo Torres Agüero - Claimed by both Latin America and France, Agüero's abstract style started while living in Japan from 1959 to 1961 where this piece was completed (likely influenced by Japanese prints and printmaking during this stay). He is represented in private and public museum collections worldwide and is well respected by his peers and critics alike.
