About the Item
A charming and imaginative bronze sculpture box that opens to a pair of gelatin silver prints. This is a collaboration where the photographs are by Lynn Gessaman and the bronze sculpture is by Irve Dell. Sculpture is signed, dated 1986, and has an annotation of 4/5. When opening the sculpture, a small window allows the viewer to see part of the photograph, but there is another door/window inside which can be lifted to view the entire image. The photograph on the right depicts a large antique window with a lovely garden view, while the photograph on the right is a grand foyer/door also leading to an ethereal garden. The viewer must interact with the artwork, which brings a sense of wonderment and curiosity. Can be displayed flat or on the stand included in lot. From a private collection. Dimensions: 10.75”h x 9.25”w. In very good vintage condition. Lynn Geesaman (1938-2020) was an American photographer. Geesaman's work is included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Contemporary Photography. Within her 40-year career she exhibited in several museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and Europe.
