Old Portrait of Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales, c.1750

About the Item

Antique portrait titled 'Henry, Prince of Wales, Son of K. James I'. Old portrait of Henry Frederick. Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales (1594-1612) was the elder son of James VI and I, King of England and Scotland, and his wife, Anne of Denmark. His younger brother Charles succeeded him as heir apparent to the English, Irish and Scottish thrones. This print originates from 'The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain, engraven by Mr. Houbracken, and Mr. Vertuewith their Lives and Characters by Thomas Birch, A.M., F.R.S'.
