Vintage 1980s Patrick Nagel posters in black frames. The larger vintage poster is actually mounted to foam core. The original poster is housed in a newer black poster frame with acrylic panel protecting the art. The second print "Classic Visions" is slightly smaller than the other print

Anyone who’s been alive during the later 20th century most certainly recognizes Nagel’s work. Mr. Nagel has cemented himself in the pop-culture lexicon along with the likes of Warhol and Lichtenstein. Many might recognize his work from Duran Duran’s “Rio” album cover. Playboy fans may recognize Nagel’s work from one of the over 200 images he produced for the magazine. His style has been imitated far and wide, defining the 1980s look. The “Nagel Woman” encapsulates the glamour and of the 1980s like no other. The “Nagel Woman” is to the 1980s as the disco ball is to the 1970s – icons of an era.
Larger print condition: Frame is newer but may have some minor scratches. There are some scuffs that appear as white scratches on the art (see photos).
Classic Visions smaller print condition: The image is overall clean. Blemishes can be seen on art on close inspection including some white specks and faint water marks. Metal frame has some scratches.

Patrick Nagel
Patrick Nagel generated a series of 15 different commemorative silkscreens that were produced over a four-year period, which were later published after his death in 1984. Only one printed edition of each commemorative was done. Screen-signed by Nagel before going to print, today these commemoratives are widely collected, because of their beauty and high-quality printing.
The feeling of Patrick Nagel's prints and paintings is reminiscent of Japanese woodblock prints as well as of Art Deco styling, yet it is completely contemporary and universal in appeal. His synthesized components of graphic design, fashion illustration and a sensuous approach to painting the figure into a stylized personal vision altered attitudes toward illustrating fashions in the 80s.
In addition to paintings, Nagel created more than 60 graphic editions, posters, commemorative editions and several commissions for Playboy and Architectural Digest, as well as the 1983 Duran Duran album cover for what became the number one record in the world. Beginning with his distinctive work for Playboy, Nagel's reputation as a designer was well-recognized and he produced numerous magazine covers and illustrations over the years.
