About the Item
Antique general store/apothecary cubby cabinet or spice rack, late 19th century.
This is a fantastic, one-of-a-kind mercantile open wall cubby unit that had been used as a spice rack. All handcrafted with 50 compartments divided by thin metal vertical posts and four metal corner reinforcements. It may sit on a countertop but has hardware attached for hanging. Cubbies are the same size with an interior space of 3"w x 5"h x 5"d. Use it for spices, essential oils, collectibles or anything your heart desires.
Some of the metal verticals towards the middle are fractured but it does not affect stability or structural soundness. It is in good condition with a gently time-worn patina. Hoosier style shaker jars are also available. A collection of milk glass, jadeite, rare red milk glass pair, clear textured and assortment of Owens ribbed and waffle textured emerald green depression glass are available separately (more than what is shown here).
