Aubusson Tapestry
About the Item
Wonderful original French Aubusson tapestry from ca. 1785 in good condition. The scenery is very well composed with a forrest, foliage and greens in the foreground, known as a "Verdure" and a charming bird. The background has a "Chinoiserie" feel to it, with a pagoda on a cliff to which an old winding bridge leads. There is even a waterfall from a grotto in the distance. This amazing tapestry is handwoven in wool in Aubusson, framed by an elegant border and it is lined and comes with a wall fixing system.
