Beautiful Large French Framed Jacquard Mythical Tapestry, 1970s

About the Item

Beautiful and very large French tapestry created using a Jacquard loom, which utilizes a complex mechanism for weaving intricate patterns and designs. The tapestries produced using the Jacquard technique are characterised by their richness, depth, and fine craftsmanship. They are often highly valued for their artistic and historical significance, as they require great skill and expertise to create. The tapestry presented here has very nice detailing and use of colours, depicting a landscape of several mythical creatures. The design is to our understanding based on a 15th century medieval painting. Please note that the tapestry comes mounted on a wooden frame.
