Hot Hand Game, Late 18th Century French Arras

About the Item

Arras in wool and silk from a model by Jean-Baptiste Oudry depicting six noble figures intent on practicing the 'Game of the Hot Hand', a very well known social entertainment at the time. It is in a good state of conservation and recalls a French Rococo taste. The Manufacture is attributable to Aubusson at the end of the 18th century and falls within the theme of the 'Campesti Leisure' or 'Games of the Nobility' typical of the Manufacture.
