French 19th Century Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze and Ebonized Wood Wall Barometer

About the Item

A fine French 19th century Louis XV style gilt-bronze and ebonized wood wall-mounting barometer - thermometer by Molteni Frères. The elongated ebonized body surmounted with gilt-bronze ornaments depicting scrolls, acanthus and floral bouquets with fruits, acorns and a quiver with arrows. The cartel wall mounting barometer's circular porcelain dial with a glass cover, the face signed 'Molteni Frères, a Paris'. Paris, circa 1890-1900. Measures: Height 46 inches (116.9 cm) Width 13 1/2 inches (34.3 cm) Depth 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).
