About the Item

Featured are two beautiful 19th century column style corbels or wall brackets. The columns are Carrara marble. one has a small stem at the top which is most likely what anchored it in its original location. One corbel has been planed to have a gently rounded bottom and the other is more square. These could easily be made to match precisely. And would make beautiful lamps. The sculptor, Bogden Bogkowski, was commissioned to carve these “angels” for the church’s planned restoration. Bogkowski worked on them for a period of time but ultimately the funding never came through and Bogkowski stopped working on them.
