The pictured mirror-polished edition is currently produced and available for purchase. Additional made-to-order editions in the raw finishes have a lead time of 6-8 weeks/are priced at $12500 and made-to-order polished editions have a lead time of 6-12 weeks/are priced at $14500 due to the more labor-intensive plating process that they require.
CHRISTOPHER PRINZ is an Omaha-based designer seeking to expose extreme and rarely-visible possibilities of materials associated with manufacturing. His works are shaped using a repetitive, large-scale steel creasing technique, and finished with different combinations of electro-plated metals. Through this process, the material becomes terrain-like, bringing an expressiveness to these otherwise fairly mute industrial materials.
Prinz received a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014.
