About the Item

This striking three-part wall sculpture by Dutch artist Eef de Graaf reflects the principles of De Stijl, Constructivism and Concrete Art. Each geometric composition explores rhythm, proportion and spatial equilibrium, revealing De Graaf’s fascination with order and optical tension. Executed in plywood and painted in a refined monochrome palette of black, white and grey, the work achieves architectural precision and visual harmony. The dialogue between positive and negative space creates a rhythmic flow across the wall—an elegant synthesis of structure and abstraction that characterises De Graaf’s oeuvre. About the artist Eef de Graaf (b. 1949, The Netherlands) is a Dutch visual artist whose work is rooted in the legacy of De Stijl and European Constructivism. Working within the language of Concrete Art, he explores rhythm, proportion and spatial harmony through strict geometric reduction. His works translate architectural order into visual poetry, continuing the lineage of Dutch geometric abstraction from Mondriaan and Van Doesburg to a contemporary idiom.
