Signed Mid Century Harris Strong “Warrior I” Framed Tile Art
About the Item
Rare Mid Century framed ceramic wall sculpture titled “Warrior I” by famed artist Harris Strong (1920-2006). Stunning tile art depicting a bearded warrior holding a shield. The sculpture has been painted in gold leaf. The piece is accentuated by the gold metal frame with five matts. Excellent original condition signed by the artist. Original “Strong” sticker on the back and the title of the piece hand .
Harris Strong graduated from North Carolina University with a degree in chemical engineering, where he learned the science behind glazing techniques. He went on to study at New York University before working for various pottery studios, eventually forming his own business, Harris G. Strong, Inc., in 1950
