About the Item
"Selfie" is a modern painting in graphic style from the "Golden Series".
"A young beautiful girl in a hat and a polka dot dress takes a selfie." said Anna about this painting. "I captured a moment from city life that I spied. Beauty, enthusiasm, youth, health - these are the symbols of this painting. The viewer involuntarily charges himself with this positive energy. This is the very moment when the painting literally changes the space around itself with its energy!"
From an artistic point of view, the painting is impeccable. It is made using acrylic structural paste, small stones and gilding.
The painting is ready to hang on the wall, a frame is not necessary, since the sides are painted.

I spent my childhood and youth in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, where I finished secondary school and art school. Thanks to my parents, who took a great interest in tourism, I was able to visit many interesting places in this beautiful land. The Kamchatka Peninsula, lapped by the Pacific Ocean, is the land of volcanoes and geysers, ice-cold mountain streams and thermal springs, the land of a long winter, an empire of rare plants and animals. The love of this rigorous and unique land has stayed in my heart forever and can be seen in my poetry and pictures. I am grateful to my first teachers Y. E. Koldayev and P. K. Derevyanko, who have awoken the artist within me and have taught me many mysteries of this trade. In 1988 I entered the applied art faculty of the Moscow Textile Academy. Two years of hard work forewent it. During my study I took part in several student exhibitions. Furthermore, at this time I painted traditional works of art like Easter eggs and «matreshka»'s. It was a very useful experience and I can say with pride, that my work now decorates many houses worldwide from Japan to Mexico. Our family has been living in Switzerland since 2001. In Switzerland I especially like springtime, when valleys are in flower and snow still lies in the mountains… the fabulous contrasts! I always admire the Alps and mountain lakes. I like to stroll about the ancient medieval streets of the cities. The originality and diversity of European centers of art amazes me - imperial Vienna, medieval Venice, antique Rome, Paris, full of architectural contrasts. I often carry my impressions of the trips onto canvas and paper. Besides landscape, an other direction of my creative work is the portrait. It is very important for me to convey not only similarity of appearance, but also a personality. I like very much to work on children's portraits, which I mostly paint in water-colors. These reflect especially brightly the softness and freshness of a children's skin and the expressiveness of a glance. In spite of the difficulties, which a painter faces in a work with water colors (this technique doesn't allow corrections), it has been interesting for me since studentship. Developing every next theme, I try to give my most completed vision of the world, to look at it in a new fashion and to not be limited only by blind imitation. Using different methods of painting and graphic arts is interesting to me. Water colors, acrylic, pastel crayons, ink, pencil... . The various interpretations of the same subject is interesting too, be it a flower, a landscape or abstract composition. My inspiration comes not only from nature, but also from music, poetry, literature and theater.

One of the most popular series of the Master Artist, The Golden Flute is the artists more romantic renedition of Art. The iconic figures of Krishna, Radha, and Ganesha that found lyrical expression in the Icons series are modern representations and sophisticated idealizations of the same images in the popular media.
Krishna is a cosmic musician, and the tune he creates by playing his transcendental flute is embodied with cosmic energy. When Krishna is depicted as being between the age of 5 and 8, it is always with his flute. Therefore, during this period, he is aptly called Murlidhara (murali means “flute,” and dhara means “hold”), signifying the one who holds the flute. He is never without it, whether he is with his mother, on the grazing grounds with his herd of cows, among his cowherd companions or roaming around on the Jamuna banks. Gopis lose their selves in this tune. For them, music becomes the voice of love, which is too passionate and secretive.
Style :
The city of Kolkata has always figured prominently in his work. His themes come from his personal interactions with its urban milieu - its sickness and sordidness, its violence and vulnerability and all that compounds its existential agony. Shuvaprasanna has depicted varying moods of the city and its people, its places, and all its facets that make the city distinctive.
He doesn't merely portray reality as 'matter of fact' and his presentation of reality often has dream-like elements in it. In terms of technique, Shuvaprasanna boasts a precise, finely executed style that yields an unmistakable visual intensity. He works comfortably in an assortment of media, including oil on canvas, charcoal, and mixed media.
About the Artist and his work :

BIO:
Daniel Jefferson AKA "Bipolar Holiday" is a self-taught street artist. A native of St. Louis, he grew up in North St. Louis County in the cities of Normandy and Hazelwood. By the age of 3, he was drawing and painting alongside his father and together they shared studios and collaborations into his mid-20s.
His father grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi and his mother in St. Louis. Expounding on his family history, Holiday speaks of his Quaker and Native American ancestry - along with his father, who is black, and his mother who is white - as forming his multiracial identity and upbringing. He expresses “not always fitting in,” - being neither “this nor that” - and residing on the margins between the social constructs of race. This emotional state is reflected in his artistic output. He cautions us to see that, while the subject matter of his work is not always a direct depiction of his experience of race, his existence as a person of color propels him and bears directly on his artistic focus and choice of materials, along with the application and gesture in each work. Anger and sadness are part of it – also love, joy, pride and humility. The artist often signs his work with a mark inspired by the ancient Egyptian Eye of Horas – a symbol of power, protection, and health.
Throughout his career, Bipolar Holiday has been both a solo practitioner and a collaborator. Tagging as King Dee and later Melo, he worked variously in the St. Louis area from the mid- 1990s to early 2000s. In the 1990s, he painted with the then St. Louis-based graffiti artist Nick Miller and his crew. Choice spots ranged from free standing concrete walls on abandoned property to temporary fencing along construction sites. The artist's compositions contained expressive line and figural elements – human faces, eyes – and the ethereal and allegorical – angel, devil motifs, etc. Later, he moved his artistic focus to a more studio-based form starting in the early 2000s. Holiday had his first show alongside his father’s work at Urbis-Orbis Gallery in downtown St. Louis in 2003. Coming full circle, he occasionally works in a few items of collage or spontaneous marks made by his daughter during her early childhood.
Bipolar Holiday has exhibited his work both locally and globally including St. Louis, New York, Grand Rapids and Antwerp. In 2019, he was featured in a four-page spread of JMG Lifestyle Magazine and a large-scale work whet to the Isabis Art Expo in 2019. St. Louis Magazine listed “Bipolar Holiday: Kyoto Girls” when the Walker-Cunningham Fine Art pop-up exhibit was named to the A-List in July 2020.
Holiday's work can be found in numerous private and public collections. He lives in St. Louis City...
