Jacques Adnet Leather Wrapped Faux Bamboo Desk

About the Item

An exceptional example of Jacques Adnet signature leather wrapped steel design. Adnet developed this hand stitched leather technique at the end of world war II. The construction can be seen as a luxurious response to the tubular steel and chrome furniture that was made famous by the Bauhaus. While the line of the furniture is still true the simple ideals of the modern tastes of the day, the leather makes it now quite so harsh. For similar examples "Jacques Adnet" by Alain-Rene Hardy and Gaelle Millet pages 191, 209-211.
