This stylish pair of 1930s bangles exude Art Deco style.

The Details...
These bangles are constructed from an orange or terracotta coloured celluloid. They are each detailed with carved abstract floral designs. The internal diameter of each bangle is 6.5cm, making the internal circumference of each bangle 20.4cm.
A Short History...
Celluloid was a highly popular material in jewellery manufacture during the 1920s and 1930s. Newly pioneered injection molding processes, meant that cellulose could be used to produce many identical pieces at the same time. This resulted in the cost per item of celluloid pieces being very low and the material could therefore cater for post-Depression and wartime demands for affordable jewellery.
