Men's Steel and Gold Braclet with Diamonds by Sauro Italy

About the Item

If you've ever spent a summer in Italy, you have undoubtedly seen handsome Italian men stepping out of gleaming 1960s Lamborghini 350 GT's and wearing American jeans, Italian loafers, and an incredibly cool bracelet. That bracelet was created by Sauro, the Italian luxury men's jeweler known for their entirely handmade, unlike-anything-anyone-else-does bracelets. Cosimo Sedazzari, whose father founded the company, says that their jewelry is "made for people who are passionate about design. . . who want to wear something not just to wear it but because they know it's something special." Which rather perfectly sums up this now de-commissioned and thus impossible to find classic Bev Sauro bracelet that was entirely hand-crafted in high-quality polished gleaming steel, mat-black steel, 18K yellow gold and a pair of small, sparkling little diamonds. I do love contemporary Sauro bracelets but this one has always been a favorite of mine and I wish they continued to manufacture it. But it's an artistic company and artists don't repeat themselves. Which makes this beautiful, clever bracelet unfortunately scarce. If you look at the front of the bracelet you will see the Sauro name rendered in gold with a pair of bright diamonds. To the left you will see a verticle bar of steel. Turn this right or left to unlock the mechanism that holds the bracelet together and it unfolded with impossible precision and grace. Tiny steel screws gleam in the sun. You can slide your hand right through the now 4" opening and then recompose the bracelet around your wrist to lock it securely into place. I have an 8-inch wrist and can wear this bracelet comfortably. If your wrist is larger than 8", you might find it tight. I'm not sure when this bracelet was created but I believe it dates from the 1980s, though it could have been in production later. But the current bracelets share DNA with this one and none of them belongs to any "time" in the conventional sense. Which makes this authentic vintage Sauro bracelet a timeless classic. It's luxurious, stylish, industrial, and incredibly cool.
