Victorian Double Heart Diamond and Pearl Bangle
About the Item
A Victorian double heart diamond and natural pearl bangle, the centre with two hearts intertwined each set with a pearl surrounded by old-cut diamonds surmounted by a rose-cut diamond bow, to a knife-edge bangle set with three pearls either side, all in 18ct yellow gold, circa 1880, internal diameter measuring approximately 5.6cm, gross weight 23.9 grams.
Unmarked tested as 18ct gold. This Victorian bangle is in excellent condition.
This romantic Victorian bangle bracelet comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The centre of the yellow gold bangle features a double heart motif, each heart set with a lustrous natural pearl and scintillating old-cut diamonds. Atop the two hearts is a diamond-set bow, tying the two hearts together. On each side of the double heart motif there are three luminous natural pearls that are set into the yellow gold. The combination of pearls, diamonds, and yellow gold is romantic and feminine, and the bangle style of this piece is wearable and surprisingly modern.
