Gorgeous and rare gilded rhinestone pavé chunky clamper bangle bracelet by iconic jewelry brand, Hattie Carnegie. In 1918, Hattie Carnegie Inc. was founded, starting with a full-scale clothing line. In 1939, Hattie Carnegie began producing jewelry to complement her clothing. Like Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli, Carnegie flourished in the “cocktail jewelry” movement, specializing in brooches and matching sets of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Her jewelry designs were meant to give a touch of flair to otherwise conservative outfits. Hattie's designs are noted for their attention to detail and creativity. Carnegie jewels were adored by Hollywood stars and other American celebrities including Tallulah Bankhead, Joan Fontaine, Norma Shearer, and Joan Crawford. Carnegie seemed to have a sixth sense about the taste of American women, flying to Paris on a regular basis and then returning home to adapt the latest looks to U.S. sensibilities.
