About the Item

Cuff bracelet designed by Craig Drake (1936-2015). Gorgeous cuff bracelet, created at the jewelry atelier of renowned fine jewelry designer Craig Drake, back in the 1980's. This cuff has been crafted in the shape of a resting tiger in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured and polished finish. Fitted with a hinged pressure section for opening. The level of details is very well made with intricate patterns simulating the hair and patches lines of the tiger. Weight: 109.75 Grams, (70.35 Dwt). Size: The inside circumference is 6.75 Inches (17 Cm) Measurements: The width is 42 mm (1.65 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "D .750". Craig Drake, born in 1936. Was the son of a Germantown watchmaker, Drake went to Penn Charter and then to University of Pennsylvania. His professional career started with a job selling soaps for Proctor & Gamble and progressed to his making and selling jewelry both for other retailers, like Tiffany’s, and for his own eponymous business on Walnut Street. He crafted custom designs for the wealthiest, most connected Philadelphia residents, who came to him to be dressed for major events, or have thematic jewelry made to match their interests. An appointment with Drake was highly coveted; one had to get a referral from an existing client just to meet with him. He thrived in the 1980s and ’90s, when Philly’s Old Money crowd. His son Craiger Drake actually runs the business. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this cuff bracelet is excellent.
