About

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 4.31 carat diamond and synthetic ruby, 18 karat yellow gold, platinum set bracelet; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections

This exceptional, fine and impressive synthetic ruby and diamond bracelet has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with a platinum setting.

The bracelet consists of eight delicate pierced decorated, quatrefoil shaped articulated links, each ornamented with a feature bezel set Old European round cut diamond to the centre of the arrangement.

Fourteen pavé set Old Dutch cut diamonds and nine channel set calibré cut synthetic rubies embellish the borders of each link; the stones alternating between the upper and lower borders.

The feature links interconnect and articulate via eight small links, each individually claw set with a Dutch cut diamond held in high relief.

This impressive antique bracelet secures with a push fit clasp and benefits from the additional security of a fine link safety chain.

This antique bracelet has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18k gold and platinum.

The bracelet is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

NOTE * In 1837 Gaudin made the first synthetic rubies by fusing potash alum at a high temperature with a little chromium as a pigment. Natural rubies and synthetic rubies look very similar on general observation. Synthetic rubies have a different internal color banding and crystal structure which can only be identified under specific test conditions. It was common practice to incorporate synthetic rubies to impressive pieces of antique jewelry.
