About the Item
An Art Deco ruby, diamond, platinum, and gold link bracelet, comprising thirty-two old cut diamonds, and one-hundred-and-sixty calibre French cut rubies, in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold.
This magnificent Art Deco bracelet hails from the 1940s, when ‘tank’ style jewellery inspired by linear tank tracks, was very much in vogue. Each link is formed as a pair of parallel yellow gold channels, each set with French cut rubies, calibre cut to fit the setting perfectly. A bezel set old cut diamond is at the centre of the channels, connecting them together. Each ruby and diamond link is joined to the next by a rectangular link, containing 3 old cut diamonds, set in platinum. The bracelet is complete with a concealed, secure box clasp, the push-button of which is set with a diamond, a safety catch, and a gold safety chain. The bracelet is in good condition, with some light abrasion to the rubies as would be expected in a piece of this age. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
