Antique Art Deco 1920s Platinum 1.96tgw Diamond and Sapphire Bracelet
About the Item
An Art Deco platinum, diamond, and sapphire bracelet, comprising three large old European cut diamonds, forty-eight smaller old European cut diamonds, seventy-eight rose cut diamonds, and twenty calibre cut sapphires, set in platinum, with 18 karat yellow gold pins and clasp tongue.
This stunning bracelet is a truly exquisite piece of design, toeing the line between Edwardian and Art Deco design. The bracelet comprises of a central section, set with three clusters of diamonds, and linked with sapphire and diamond panels. At the centre is the largest old European cut diamond, elegantly bezel set in platinum, surrounded by smaller old European cut diamonds of various sizes. This design is replicated to either side, with smaller old European cut diamonds. The large diamonds are cleverly set, allowing them to appear as if they were floating. Connecting the diamond set sections are panels set with two rows of rose cut diamonds, with a central row of calibre cut sapphires. The diamonds and sapphires sit between elegant millegrain edging. A final tapering row of diamonds connects the central section to the platinum link bracelet. Each section of the bracelet is articulated with hinges, allowing it to sit perfectly against the wrist and move with you. The bracelet fastens securely with a push-release box clasp and is secured with a figure-of-8 safety catch.
The diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well matched with one another. The larger diamonds have good symmetry and are well cut, being round in shape. The clarity and colour of the diamonds is good, and the rose cut diamonds are fairly bright and white too. The bracelet is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The diamond and sapphire set portion of the bracelet measures approximately 85mm long.
