Piedra Y Plata Sterling Silver and Sodalite Mexican Bracelet by Felipe Martinez

About the Item

An rare Mexcian sterling silver and sodalite link bracelet by Felipe Martinez for Piedra Y Plata. With shaped silver alternately set with sodalite cabochons. The sodalite gemstones are smooth to the touch and the silver is gentle on the arm. This bracelet is an exciting example of Maritnez's coveted work. In particular, it epitomizes his great design - it is edgy, reminiscent of something ancient and eternal, and entirely wearable at the same time. Martinez's workshop was amongst the most highly regarded in Taxco in the mid-20th century, and his pieces are highly sought after today. His work was inspired by pre-Columbian art and the cutting-edge sculpture of his contemporaries. The reverse is marked for Piedra Y Plata, Taxco, sterling, Martinez, and 175. Length: ca. 117 mm Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
