Emerald Diamond Line Bracelet

About the Item

This elegant line bracelet will have you invoking your inner Daisy Buchanan excited to get ready for an extravagant soiree at the Gatsby mansion. Line bracelets as they were known during the 1920s when they first appeared, were typically worn in multiples up the arm for an opulent look. This richly elegant example, made in 1980s, simply dazzle with diamonds and emeralds set in a single flexible strand, all visually matching in size. This bracelet measures 7 inches in length (17.78 cm), crafted in platinum, and carries a measured and linear pattern of 5 diamonds alternating with 5 emeralds. The bracelet displays a set of 5 diamonds and 5 emeralds, with 25 square emerald-cut emeralds weighing an estimated 6.00 carats total, and 25 round diamonds weighing an estimated 8.00 carats total. All diamonds are natural, most with F-G color, VS clarity. Emeralds are estimated as Zambian. The bracelet fastens with a concealed push clasp so as not to interrupt the flow of gemstones around the wrist. Each stone is set within individual box settings that hinge together and move freely, giving the jewel quite a comfortable level of flexibility when worn. The square emeralds are channel set, and the round diamonds are prong set at the corners, playing square against round, smooth against texture, and most strikingly, playing a geometric pop of color against a brilliant sparkle. Colorful gemstones took the spotlight during the Jazz Age, and the way this contemporary homage features color while emphasizing the graphic and linear qualities of the design shows an adept understanding of Art Deco jewels. The sleek geometry of the emerald cut is the perfect choice for the verdant stone, with clean lines and parallel step-cut facets. The emerald cut was actually developed especially for emeralds by lapidaries around the 1500 to create a durable stone with maximum yield that would show off its exceptional color. Emeralds are a symbol of love and rebirth and have been treasured for over 4,000 years. They are also said to encourage reflection and balance, a fitting meaning for such a well-proportioned and sparkling duo. Measures approx. 7” in length. 25 emeralds weighing approx. 6.00 carats total. 25 round diamonds weighing approx. 8.00 carats total. Overall weight approx. 28.58 grams, made in platinum; circa 1980s.

Around the time the Tennis Bracelet debuted into polite society, the classic tennis color combination was generally white and navy. The year was 1978. This was before players got clothing endorsements or even racquet endorsements for that matter, and they certainly had not started to design their own tennis dresses in every imaginable color. It was a time of classic minimalism. At Wimbledon, the dress code was—and is—all white. Players were only permitted a single trim of color around the neckline and around the cuff of the sleeves, but no wider than one centimeter (10mm). But the tournament where the iconic tennis bracelet was born was the US Open, and there was a bit more leeway. This Contemporary Sapphire Baguette Diamond...
