1800s Antique Victorian 3.13 Carat Opal and 12k Yellow Gold Brooch

A fine and impressive antique 3.13 carat opal and 12 karat yellow gold, steel set brooch; part of our Victorian jewellery collections This fine and impressive antique Victorian brooch has been crafted in 12k yellow. The terminal of the antique pin brooch is ornamented with a feature twelve claw set 3.13ct cabochon cut white opal. The feature setting is secured to a steel pin, as often the case with such original antique examples. This antique brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12 karat gold and steel. This impressive Victorian opal pin brooch is supplied with an IDGL gemstone grading report card. This impressive opal brooch is fitted to a period hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'William Angus, Jeweller and Silversmiths, 27 & 29 Lord Street, Liverpool'. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone. Condition This impressive Victorian pin brooch is excellent quality, set with a fine and impressive feature opal displaying a scintillating play of colour. The pierced decorated linear setting displays a stunning feature eight claw set 0.39ct Old European cut diamond to the centre, embellished with a fluted border. The length of the brooch is accented with a further six individually claw set Old European cut diamonds. Two supporting diamonds accent each terminal of the bar brooch. The seven stone diamond bar brooch is further ornamented with six panels of impressive black hot enamel, positioned between each of the claw set diamonds. This antique brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and C clasp fastening. This antique brooch is hallmarked to the hinged pin fastening with the fineness mark for 15k gold (15) and the date letter (A). This impressive brooch is supplied with seven independent diamond grading report certificates for the feature stones, in addition to an independent diamond grading report card for the supporting stones.
