About the Item
For sale is this stunning Victorian leaf pin. This lovely antique 18k gold pin is very detailed and set with a little seed pearl in its center. On top of that is this stickpin marked with a French eagle head and a makers mark. Ivy leafs stand for the connection and bands you have with family and friends. Because nothing can separate ivy from its host once it has once embraced it, similar to real friendships and a family band.
Queen Victoria, who reigned during the 19th century, was an influential person. Her style and sense of fashion became almost a benchmark during her reign. Queen Victoria has devoted much attention on bringing nature into her home and that of her nation throughout her reign. For example plants but also animals were often depicted in her jewellery but also as decoration on furniture and other utensils.
