Antique Brooch Diamonds Guilloché Enamel Eros Amor's Torches Love Token
About the Item
This charming pin has been created to be presented to a loved one as a token of love and passion. The beautifully chisselled frame is decorated with flower buds. On pidgeon blue enamel we see two silver torches in a flower garland surround set with rose diamonds. The guilloché pattern is dsigned as a series of rays goin out in all directions from the central image in the middle of the shield. The torch is with bow and arrow an attribute of amor. It is an allegory of love and passion. The reverse of the jewell is beautifully engraved with a bouquet of flowers arranged in a basket. The catch is stamped with the eagle's head, the French hallmark for 18 karat from 1838.
