About the Item

Antique Egyptian Revival sacred Scarab Beetle Brooch made of Gilt / Fold Filled Silver decorated with 15 natural Rubies, 11 natural Sapphires , 28 natural Diamonds, one Citrine and a Garnet stones. Firm clasp with two firm needles. This brooch was hand-made in Egypt and purchased at Mena House Hotel, Cairo Egypt in yearly 1930s. Original period box with logo of dealer Desouky H.Ibrahim in finest condition. Beetle is about 46 mm long X 43 mm. All Metal parts made of Gold Filled Silver. Three natural oval diamond cut Sapphires of light Blue Color : (1) 6mm x 4.5 mm/ ca. 0.75ct , (2) 5.75mm x 4. 75mm /ca. 0.65ct , (3) 5,65mm x 4.5mm/ ca. 0.6ct. Six princess / square cut dark Blue Sapphires 3mm x 3mm / ca.0.25 ct each + two small Blue Eyes that I do not count.. Total weight of Sapphires here : ca. 3 ctw 15 natural Burma Rubies of variable tints of Red, all oval cut. 28 rose cut natural Diamond stones Ø 1.5 -2 mm on the wings. Yellow Citrine, cushion cut 7.5 x 6.25 x 1.5 deep / ca 1.5ct. Red Garnet ,cabochon 8.5 mm x 8 mm / ca 2.5ct Weight: 33 grams. Condition is finest used. Stones in the finest shape, none missing.
