Antique Victorian/Napoleon III 18K yellow gold serpent/snake brooch - fine and elaborate chased gold finish to the body with chain and tassel details - hand made featuring blue enamel head with contrasting enamel eyes - claw set with one round mixed cut emerald (2.60 x 1.71 mm - .07 carat - moderately included) - cultured pearl for the tongue (3.4 mm diameter - white rose - medium luster - lightly spotted) - original trombone catch and pin with round hinge - stamped 750 on the pin - unsigned - France - circa 1880.
Excellent antique condition - all original - minor enamel loss around the eyes - oxidation around the neck - no repairs - signs of age and use - original pin and trombone closure - ready to wear.
Size/Dimensions - Large - 2 1/2" Wide x 2 1/4" High x 1" Deep.
