Antique Sentimental Novelty Brooch Bird Forget Me Not Turquoise Pearl Silver
About the Item
This charming Victorian novelty brooch was made out of silver in 1880 ca. It is designed as a little bird sitting on a bouquet of flowers, some of the flowers are forget me nots. The brooch is set with round and oval cabochon turquoises two small pearls and a garnet cabochon. The reverse of the brooch has traces of gilding. The language of flowers was used to convey messages of love and friendship and express secret sentiments.
