A stunning, fine and impressive Victorian 0.37 carat turquoise and 0.06 carat garnet, 14 karat yellow gold brooch in the form of a snake; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections This stunning, fine and impressive Victorian brooch has been crafted in 14k yellow gold. The brooch has been modelled in the form of a snake, twisted and entwined around itself. The head of the snake features a textured finish, ornamented with a vertical row of five collet set turquoise. A further five graduated collet set turquoise accent the snake's mouth, totalling 0.37ct. The head of the snake is further embellished with two collet set cabochon cut garnets, representing the serpent's eyes. The interlacing body of the snake is plain and unembellished. The brooch secures to the reverse with a yellow gold hinged pin and safety clasp. This Victorian snake brooch is just beautiful. It has pink and Blue stones detailed and chased with scroll work completely detailed on the front with a smooth back. I rarely find chased and detailed snake brooch such as this. The brooch is beautiful one of the nicest I have found because most snake brooches are smooth not detailed with chase work. I was going to put this on a chain to wear as a necklace but I decided to leave that up to the next owner. This Victorian Snake Brooch is 4.5cm long by 2.5cm wide and a depth of 1 3/4.
